Intouchers know how important it is to balance work and play. As the old proverb says, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” In the spirit of forestalling dullness, and more importantly, to celebrate the good work we’ve done in 2015, the Chicago and Kansas City teams recently got out of their respective offices for some playtime.
The Chicago office celebrated with dinner, drinks, bowling and bocce. After a raffle with giveaways that included giant lawn-bowling sets, about 150 Intouchers nurtured their competitive sides, hammed it up in a photo booth and relaxed on an open patio along the Chicago River.
Grace Pollert, Chicago’s office manager, planned the party. “When planning, I wanted to make sure there was a little something for everyone, so the venue worked out beautifully,” she said.
“This was a great interactive event,” said EVP Angela Tenuta. “We loaded up on carbs and took to the lanes. It was fun to see the ‘leagues’ fire up. There was a good mix of people in friendly competition. I may have personally knocked over a VP in an effort to prevent a spare.”
In Kansas City, approximately 420 Intouchers took an afternoon and headed to Kauffman Stadium to tailgate and cheer on the Royals as they took on the Baltimore Orioles. There was BBQ (because it’s Kansas City), a photo booth, a visit from Royals’ mascot Sluggerrr and a raffle that included lots of KC-related goodies, including some of CEO Faruk Capan’s own signed sports memorabilia. There was also rain — a lot of rain — but excellent planning on the part of business development manager Holly Owens (including the provision for a huge tent at the tailgate) made the outing a huge success.
Our New York office is in the process of relocating to bigger digs, so they’ve yet to have their get-out-and-play time. We’re looking forward to hearing about their celebration soon!
