Feet on the Ground: Our #ALLin Campaign Is Off to a Great Start
Big things are happening at Intouch! This year, we’re going places, and we mean that literally. Our #ALLin campaign is taking us around the country and bringing us closer to patients, their experiences and their stories. Through #ALLin, we’re committing ourselves to listening and taking what we learn to find meaningful solutions to everyday healthcare challenges. Over the course of the year, we’ll also host a series of hackathons and participate in a number of pro bono initiatives and internal programs, all designed to improve healthcare — and improve lives.
Understanding what patients face is critical to what we do, and attending these events helps us remember why we come to work every day. With that in mind, Kansas City Intoucher Adam Shafer and his wife Sarah ran the Funny Bunny 5K on April 2. Adam, a senior front-end developer, explains that they chose this event because it commemorated World Autism Awareness Day and supported Paws 4 Autism. The Shafers have a family friend who is 12 and has autism, so they were excited to learn about how Paws 4 Autism is helping patients by training service dogs to support autistic children.
Adam said, “We spoke with the founder of the program who explained the great things they are accomplishing. They are working to procure a facility where dogs can be trained, instead of only using individual fostering homes. Eight service dogs in training were at the event as well. It was very cool.”
Thanks to Adam and Sarah for going #ALLin to support this great organization with their time and interest! We can’t wait to see where Intouch employees go next and to learn from their experiences.
If you’d like to participate or meet up with Intouchers and talk healthcare, our next official #ALLin Airstream event will be in Chicago at the walk for Take Steps for Crohn’s and Colitis on June 11. Please join us!
