15 Years of Making a Difference and Changing Lives
Over the past 15 years, we’ve held true to our belief that serving others allows us to ultimately serve ourselves. Our Fast15 celebration highlights what we’ve learned during our time in the pharmaceutical marketing business and gives us the opportunity to thank the people who make our business a success: our clients. But no Intouch anniversary is complete without challenging ourselves to give back to all those in the community. During a three-day philanthropy effort, held May 20 through May 22, Intouchers from our Overland Park, Kansas, office volunteered their time to charitable organizations in the local community.
Our philanthropy committee packed the three days with fun events aimed at benefitting the Kansas City community. A specific activity was held each day for Intouch employees to participate in. Here’s a breakdown of what happened:
On Tuesday, we ACCOMPL15HED …
“I’m Lovin’ It” didn’t even begin to explain how we felt as we kicked off the philanthropic festivities. By spending the day assembling snack bags for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City, we accompl15ed the goal of providing bags of healthy goodies and toys to families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.
On Wednesday, we CHER15HED …
Heart to Heart International visited Intouch and shared its mission with us. Through healthcare programs, Heart to Heart offers medical aid, medical training and response efforts around the world. During our day with Heart to Heart, we assembled emergency kits to be used on missions. We cher15ed the knowledge we received from Heart to Heart about striving to make the world a healthier place.
On Thursday, we REPLEN15HED…
Intouchers took the stage and replen15ed their charitable spirits throughout this day. Everyone was invited to hop into our video booth and share the impact philanthropy has had on their lives and the lives of others. We believe when you volunteer your time and talents, you’re helping two people: the person whose life you’re changing and your own. We also replen15ed our ranks by inviting participants to make a difference in the healthcare community by joining our Intouch Philanthropy Committee.
In addition to these events, we also collected donated items over the course of the week for three organizations: Harvesters Community Food Network, Children’s Mercy Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of KC.
And let’s not forget our Intouchers over in Chicago who participated in The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, a national weekend fundraising event launched in 2003 by the Avon Foundation. Intouchers put their creative skills to use on the “Poster Posse” to help make the event fun and exciting for the participants, who walk up to 39.3 miles in one weekend. The posters were placed along the route to help encourage the thousands of walkers. Intouch Chicago came together over the course of two days to create over 50 posters! A couple of our associates even saw them being held up by the volunteer crew during the event at the finish line.
This year, the Chicago Avon Walkers raised more than $4.7 million to support local programs serving breast cancer patients and researchers committed to finding a cure.
Our 15th anniversary marks 15 years of giving back to the community. At Intouch, we’re not only passionate about what we do in healthcare, we strive to make a difference in our community and change lives through our philanthropic efforts.
Thanks to all the amazing Intouchers who contributed to the weeks’ activities. Whether you’ve been part of Intouch for 15 years, 15 months or 15 minutes, each of you plays a vital role in what we do. This is a milestone we couldn’t have accomplished without you!
