“I heard about Faruk’s little start-up from a friend back in 2000.”

Q

What technological innovation in the last few years are you the most excited about?

I would have to say cloud based data storage. I love being able to access my stuff wherever I want using a device of my choice. I’m one of those guys who don’t really have one device that I specifically prefer to use. I still use an iPod. While I work in technology, I’m not really a technological geek.

Q

What was the last good book you read?

Double Cross: The True Story of the D-day Spies, by Ben Macintyre

Q

What was your first paying job?

My first job was as a golf course maintenance worker. There used to be a goat ranch golf course called Chapel Woods. I started when I was 15 and crashed a golf cart my first week on the job.

Q

What was your favorite college course?

History of the Vietnam War

Q

If you could have lunch with any person, living or dead (other than a relative) who would it be?

I would have to say Hunter S. Thompson. He is one of my favorite authors, loved reading all his books. Also, he was one of those massive personalities that only comes around every so often.

Q

How did you get started in this industry?

Prior to joining Intouch I was working as a District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America. I heard about Faruk’s little start-up from a friend back in 2000. At the time she was getting ready to leave for maternity leave and Intouch needed to hire someone to cover the position. All of this lined up to me taking a job with Intouch Solutions in November of 2000.

Q

What chore do you absolutely hate doing?

I hate cleaning bathrooms.

Q

What is your favorite drink?

Woodford Reserve on the rocks

Q

Do you have any hidden talents?

I am a master disc golfer. I play Swope Park, Water Works. I had kids when I was fairly young and it’s a free activity that you can take your kids and dogs to. No one complains.

Q

If you could live during any time period, which would it be?

The mid-19th century during US westward expansion. I love the history of the area. It would be a very incredible, if not safe, time to live here.

Q

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

Night owl
