“I believe I tend to think differently than everyone else. I look at a problem and find solutions.”

Q

What is your biggest industry challenge?

Balancing today and tomorrow — balancing the immediate needs of the client with the need to innovate. I’m inspired every time I see innovation become a reality, especially when it delivers results to our clients.

Q

What is your favorite tech gadget?

As much as I love my iPad® and iPhone®, my favorite piece of technology is always changing. I love testing out new gadgets and envisioning how each tool has the potential to impact digital marketing.

Q

What has been you best career moment?

Winning Agency of the Year for the first time in 2010 was extremely exciting, and more recently being recognized as 2013 Industry Person of the Year was beyond gratifying. I’ve been very fortunate, but I believe my best career moment is still yet to come and take nothing for granted.

Q

What was the last good book you read?

The last book I read was Delivering Happiness by Tony Hsieh, the CEO of Zappos. It’s an inspiring book about customer service and entrepreneurship. The message is that even if you’re selling shoes online, you can still differentiate with good customer service. It resonated with me because I feel that a focus on the client is how Intouch has grown and differentiated over the years, too.

Q

What was your very first paying job?

My dad was an entrepreneur, and I wanted to imitate him. When I was as young as about 9 years old, I sold light bulbs, carrying around my earnings in a beat-up shoebox.

Q

What was your favorite college course?

That was a long time ago! I’d say my business management classes. I enjoyed debating about hypothetical business problems and trying to solve them.

Q

If you could have lunch with any person, living or dead (other than a relative), who would it be?

Steve Jobs. I admire his passion for innovation and design — how he thought. He was a controversial guy, but his ideas made him stand out. I’d ask him how he did it.

Q

How did you get started in this industry?

Everything I’ve done seems to involve computers and business, from my first “real” job in the finance department of a computer company. When I was getting my MBA, the classroom had one of the first PCs in the college. Business and technology have always gone together for me.

Q

What is your favorite drink?

Gin and tonic.

Q

You’re from Turkey — does your name have a meaning?

My name has to do with justice (telling right from wrong).

Q

Do you have any hidden talents?

I believe I tend to think differently than everyone else. I look at a problem and find solutions.

Q

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

Night owl.

Q

If you could live during any time period, which would it be?

I’d live in the present. Right now. I truly enjoy the speed that things are happening.
