“I moved to Chicago and discovered that pharma experience and a degree in advertising qualified me for an exciting life in the world of pharma marketing.”

Q

What technological innovation in the last few years are you the most excited about?

I love my iPhone! Seriously, unlimited access to people, music, maps, information — all at your fingertips. There is nothing that can’t be solved or figured out with this magical little device. I am on the road a lot, and my phone is my tether to reality. It tells me where I am and where I need to be and provides instant access to anyone I need to talk to. Get me my jetpack because we are living in the future my friend!.

Q

How many languages do you speak?

Does nerd count? Or toddler? If not, one.

Q

What was the last good book you read?

Dark Places by Gillian Flynn. (Don’t judge—I am a slave to airport literature.)

Q

What was your first paying job?

At 14, my dad came home and told me that they were hiring dishwashers at my small-town pizza place. I told him that was nice. He then informed me that if I wanted things, like Nike shoes or tapes (for you younglings, these were plastic cases with magnetic tape in them used to transport some of the greatest hair band music known to man), I was going to need to get that job. I have been working full-time ever since.

Q

What was your favorite college course?

Literature in Cinema, a complete blow-off class that taught me that nothing appears on screen without a purpose. The random cousin who has no reason to be introduced in a detective story? Yeah, he did it.

Q

If you could have lunch with any person, living or dead (other than a relative), who would it be?

George Carlin or Louis CK.

Q

How did you get started in this industry?

I got a job as the assistant to the VP of sales for Express Scripts out of college. (I had no idea what they did, but I needed a job.) After a year and a half there, I moved to Chicago and discovered that pharma experience and a degree in advertising qualified me for an exciting life in the world of pharma marketing.

Q

What chore do you absolutely hate doing?

Does answering all my fan mail count? If not, I am going to go with cleaning up toys.

Q

What is your favorite drink?

Shiner Bock in a bottle.

Q

Why were you given your name?

Because my parents lacked imagination.

Q

Do you have any hidden talents?

Yes, and they will remain hidden.

Q

If you could live during any time period, which would it be?

The future. Like the really Zen-like, peaceful, wearing-white-jumpsuits future, not the scary, Terminator robot future.

Q

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

Hoot hoot.
