Intouchers Run, Bike, Socialize for the Greater Good

Last year, we covered a lot of territory during our #ALLin journey – traveling around the United States to meet and speak with patients and caregivers about their healthcare challenges. Though #ALLin is no longer the center of our attention, we’re still committed to participating in healthcare events and connecting with the people our work impacts. So how do we do it? And what have Intouch employees been up to lately?

Our Feet on the Ground (FOTG) program – which we started last year as part of #ALLin – makes it possible for Intouchers to participate in events they care about by sponsoring up to $50 of registration fees. When we started FOTG, eligible events were restricted to sporty things like fundraising walks, 5- and 10Ks, bike races, etc. But this year, we’ve broadened the range of events Intouchers can participate in.

In March, several Intouchers from the Kansas City office participated in the Great Plains 10K, in support of the Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF), which is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease.

“It’s amazing having the opportunity to get to know my coworkers outside of work. We really bond through the experience and enjoy the chance to cheer each other on while supporting incredible causes.” – Kayla Kroenlein, Associate Art Director, Marketing & Communications, Intouch KC

In early June, a group of Intouch employees from the Chicago office exercised their right to fundraise in a more relaxed atmosphere at the MS Summer Social, a cocktail-party fundraiser for Multiple Solutions, the Chicago junior board and auxiliary of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Back in Kansas City, Intoucher Chelsie Veasman took advantage the FOTG bring-a-buddy option: In addition to providing up to $50 toward event registration fees for employees, Intouch will do the same for an employee’s guest. In mid-June, Chelsea and her dad participated in Ride2Blvdia, a fundraiser that supported Cancer Action KC and Children’s Mercy Hospital.

No doubt there will be more community events this summer, and plenty of generous Intouchers who'll contribute their free time to paricipating for worthwhile causes. Thanks to all who've participated so far this year!
