Executive Vice President
What has been your biggest career moment thus far?
Being the first to launch custom iPad applications for HCP detailing, just months after the device launched in 2010. Now over 5,000 sales representatives carry detailing apps created by Intouch.
What makes Intouch different than other agencies?
I like to say that Intouch is more like Google than a Madison Avenue shop. We're not your typical agency. We can turn around deliverables on par with the big guys, but we are nimble & quick with an eye on innovation.
What was it like to be the first person in the Chicago office?
Actually, I was the second person in Chicago. We have a great off-site copywriter in Aurora that helped show me the ropes. Everyone at my old agency said I was crazy, taking a chance on working from home and building an office. There were some scary moments, but I’m proud to say we’ve made it work. Nearly 100 people work out of our Chicago office now.
What was the last good book you read?
Reading for fun is an old love I’ve had to put away for a couple decades. But I’ll be back.
What was your very first paying job?
I danced just about every role there was in the old Nutcracker at Chicago’s Arie Crown Theater. My first year, I was a bonbon, we would jump out of a big hoop skirt and bounce around. I was 9, got to skip school for all of December, and made $300 for the season. It was magical.
What was your favorite college course?
Hmm. Honestly, a tie between poetry and calculus. I’m a math head and a sap.
If you could have lunch with any person, living or dead (other than a relative) who would it be?
Emily Dickenson. She’s gotten me through some tough times.
How did you get started in this industry?
At Draft Worldwide, I was a junior level account manager. They asked for a volunteer to move to a digital pharma account. I think I ran down the hall. I got there first, because everyone else wanted TV.
What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
What is your favorite drink?
Vitawater XXX. Life is thrilling enough sober.
Why were you given your name?
My middle name, Jennifer, was a tribute to a friend of my hippie mother and a Donovan song.
Do you have any hidden talents?
Ballerina things: balance, posture, discipline, high kicks & twirls. They still serve me well daily.
If you could live during any time period, which would it be?
Does the future count?
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
With this job and two children under 5...I’m definitely both!
